Finding a new restaurant that delivers on great taste, service and ambiance always invokes a feeling of pure satisfaction that’s drives me to continuously seek out new places to dine. I thoroughly enjoy going to new restaurants and trying new foods or variations of my favorite meals. This welcomes my new series ‘Let’s Get Dinner’, where I’ll share my take on different restaurants I have visited.
To kick this series off, I’ll be featuring a place that’s somewhat like a hidden gem but also not very hidden at the same time. Forté Solution. The restaurant provides a mixture of French and Asian cuisine. With a setup that provides private dining along with KTV (they love karaoke here in China). Each private room comes in different sizes and each has a different minimum spending charge.
I first found this restaurant through a friend when I was as in need of a venue for my 30th birthday celebration. I had already made plans to travel to Shanghai, but Covid was still very much so a thing here in China. With my Shanghai plans cancelled, a private dinner in Wuhan was my next best option . And it surely didn’t disappoint.
We were able to book the largest private room, at the time the cost was about RMB3000, (USD$417). Keep in mind prices vary per room and also depending on if it’s high or low season. The cost included food, beverages and alcohol. We were given complimentary welcome snacks. They were also very flexible, and welcomed our wish to have two meals that were not on their menu (black pepper beef spaghetti and chicken fried rice).
We wanted to ensure our guests all being different were able to have something from our set menu. For the dinner menu I decided on: black pepper beef spaghetti, chicken fried rice (not offered on the Forté menu), whole roasted chicken, Korean popcorn chicken and French fries with Japanese Nori.
Along with the private room, which also had its own private bathroom, we were given servers. We had servers for cocktail hour, when guests were arriving and then a different group of servers entered for dinner service. I had an impeccable night that I’ll remember forever.
It was such a blessing and convenience to find a restaurant that provided quality service and that was also flexible to our needs as foreigners. Subsequently, I’ve been back to Forté several times and it had been recommended to friends who also seek a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply want to partake in a new dining experience.
